Organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA), the 4th Hong Kong Brands and Products Shopping Festival (the Festival) opened today (2 August) and will run for four days until 5 August at the AsiaWorld-Expo. This highly anticipated event features over 250 booths distributed across six thematic zones, showcasing a wide spectrum of fashion products, gourmet foods and wines from around the world. Attendees can also look forward to engaging activities and exciting rewards, all designed to create joyful summer memories for everyone in attendance.
The Festival has received strong support from all sectors of society. It commenced with a grand opening ceremony graced by esteemed guests, including Dr Bernard Chan, Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development; Mr Anson Lai, Deputy Director-General of Trade and Industry; Dr Wingco Lo, President of CMA; Mr Ivan Sze, Vice President of CMA cum Chairman of CMA Exhibition Services Limited; Dr Allen Shi, Permanent Honorary President of CMA; Mr Ma Kai Yum, Executive Vice President of CMA; Mr Simon Wong, Mr Dennis Ng, Mr Jackson Leung, Mr Calvin Chan, Mr Robert Lok, Mr Albert Chuang, and Dr Ellis Wong, Vice Presidents of CMA.
In his opening remarks, Dr Wingco Lo, President of CMA, noted that in the midst of challenging economic environment, the pursuit of cost-effectiveness has emerged as a prevailing trend among consumers. The Festival brings together high-quality products at reasonable prices, addressing consumers’ needs for value and affordability. He said: “I believe that this year’s Festival can inject new vitality into Hong Kong’s retail market, stimulating local consumption.”
Dr Lo further emphasised that the Festival is not only a local shopping extravaganza, but also a platform to showcase Hong Kong’s appeal as events capital. To encourage more tourists to attend the Festival, free admission tickets will be distributed to tourists, alongside a flight ticket giveaway campaign exclusively for non-local attendees.
With six thematic zones, the Festival offers a diverse range of high-quality products, ranging from food and beverages, grocery items, dried seafood, healthcare products, home appliances, to kitchenware. Nearly 100 selected items will be available at massive discounts of at least 90% off, or even at HK$1 only.
One of the highlights of this year’s Festival is the newly introduced Chillax Zone, offering visitors a distinctive shopping experience amidst uniquely designed bar installations. Here, visitors can indulge in a diverse selection of wines, wine-pairing snacks, and a variety of specialty cocktails crafted on the spot.
The CMA’s 90th birthday is just one month away. As a token of our appreciation for the enduring support of Hong Kong citizens, the Festival have prepared various lucky draws with a total prize value exceeding HK$700,000. The prizes include high-end home appliances, health products and bedding. During the exhibition, the first 180 attendees every day will receive a gift bag worth HK$190. Additionally, the Festival offers a wide range of stage programmes, DIY workshops, and a children’s playground, promising an exciting and unforgettable summer experience for visitors of all ages.
The Festival is open from 10:30am to 7pm daily. To celebrate Hong Kong athletes’ outstanding achievements in the Paris competitions, visitors can enjoy free admission on the first day of the Festival. Admission thereafter will be $10. (free admission for children under 1 meter in height, citizens over the age of 65, and persons with disabilities).
