Organised by The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA), the 4th Hong Kong Brands and Products Shopping Festival (the Festival) will take place from 2 to 5 August 2024 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. This 4-day shopping extravaganza features over 250 indoor booths spread across six thematic zones, bringing diverse fashion products, global gourmet food and wine, and a wide range of entertainment activities for the enjoyment of citizens and tourists alike during the summer season.
At today’s (24 July) press conference, Dr Wingco Lo, President of CMA, expressed that the Festival, as a flagship summer exhibition of CMA, is in the right place at the right time. He explained, “Firstly, similar to other CMA’s exhibitions, it aligns with the prevailing trend of cost-effectiveness. Secondly, the Festival is held at the AsiaWorld-Expo, conveniently located near the airport and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port, where numerous popular attractions and shopping malls are situated. Coupled with the various measures introduced by the Central Government to support the recovery of Hong Kong’s tourism, we firmly believe that this year’s Festival will achieve satisfactory results.”
To encourage citizens to stay and spend in Hong Kong and align with the government’s initiatives of promoting mega events economy and the concept of “Tourism is anywhere in Hong Kong”, CMA continues to infuse its exhibitions with new elements. One of the highlights of this year’s Festival is the newly introduced Chillax Zone. This zone features uniquely designed bar installations, where bartenders will create various specialty cocktails on spot. In addition, a selection of red and white wines, sparkling wines, beers, meads and wine-pairing snacks will be available. We will also offer a daily cocktail giveaway of 30 glasses for visitors throughout the expo period. To create a unique shopping experience for visitors, star mixologists will be present to share their expertise and perform captivating demonstrations.
In addition to the Chillax Zone, this year’s Festival also features other five thematic zones: Leisure Food Zone, Health Preserving Food Zone, Living & Household Products Zone, Fashion & Beauty Products Zone, and Yummy Food Zone. These zones offer visitors the opportunity to indulge in shopping for their favorable products. Nearly 100 selected items will be available with hefty discounts, some discounted up to 90% off or priced as low as HK$1.
To celebrate CMA’s 90th birthday and share the joy with all visitors, the Festival will host various lucky draws with a total prize value exceeding HK$700,000. The prizes include high-end home appliances, health products and bedding. During the exhibition, the first 90 attendees every day will receive a gift bag worth nearly HK$190. To encourage more tourists to attend the Festival, non-local visitors can participate in a lucky draw and stand a chance to win round-trip airline tickets, sponsored by Hong Kong International Airport, for travel from Beijing, Shanghai, or Hangzhou to Hong Kong.
Mr Ivan Sze, Vice President of the CMA and Chairman of CMA Exhibition Services, highlighted that the Festival is not only a heaven for bargain hunters and foodies, but also a fantastic destination for families. He stated, “To bring summer joys to visitors of all ages, the Festival will be load with fun-filled entertainment for the entire family to enjoy together. These include exciting stage performances, captivating handicraft workshops, and a kids playground equipped with exciting children’s facilities.”
The Festival is open from 10:30am to 7pm daily. Admission tickets are $10 each (free admission for children under 1 meter in height, citizens over the age of 65, and persons with disabilities).
